4,6-Dichloro-5-ethyl-2-phenylpyrimidine (4,6-DCP) is a pyrimidine amide that has been shown to be an effective inhibitor of the enzyme RNA polymerase II. 4,6-DCP inhibits bacterial growth and can be used for the treatment of tuberculosis. This drug also has anti-inflammatory properties, which may be due to its inhibition of prostaglandin synthesis.
