It also has a safety profile and does not affect blood pressure or cause autoimmune diseases. Functional assays show that 4-[[3-(Trifluoromethyl)phenyl]methyl]-2H-1,4-benzothiazin-3(4H)-one inhibits the production of inflammatory cytokines such as IL-6 and TNFα.
