CAS :Phosphocholine is a wastewater treatment agent that can be used in biological applications. It has shown to inhibit the activity of Toll-like receptor 4 (TLR4) by binding to polyphosphorylcholine, which may be important for the prevention of inflammatory diseases. Phosphocholine also inhibits polymerase chain reactions and phosphorylcholine synthesis, which are essential processes in energy metabolism. This compound has been shown to have biocompatible properties and can be used as a polymer model system for cancer tissues. The reaction solution with hydrogen fluoride converts phosphocholine into choline. Phosphocholine is a substrate for the enzyme CTP:phosphocholine cytidylyltransferase (CCT)CCT catalyzes the conversion of phosphocholine to CDP-choline, which is a key step in the biosynthesis of phosphatidylcholine.
