L-Arginine ethyl ester dihydrochloride has been shown to inhibit the myeloid-derived suppressor cell (MDSC) response in mice undergoing carboxy terminal erythrocyte acetate extraction. This drug also interacts with the hydrogen bond network between histidine residues on proteins, which may be responsible for its effect on energy metabolism.
