CAS :Acid Red 1 is an optical sensor that produces a change in color when it reacts with a substance. It also has fixative properties and is used to preserve biological samples. Acid Red 1 is typically made up of two components: one that absorbs light at 660 nm and another that absorbs light at 780 nm. The rate constant for the reaction between Acid Red 1 and the substance is proportional to the concentration of the substance. Acid Red 1 has been shown to have synergistic effects when combined with other dyes, such as Sudan III. This dye can be used on biological samples such as blood, skin, or hair for genotoxic activity testing or for analytical methods such as electrochemical impedance spectroscopy.
