CAS :H-Ala-Tyr-Pro-Gly-Lys-Phe-OH is a peptide that activates toll-like receptor 4 (TLR4). It is a potent inhibitor of the enzyme phospholipase A2 and has been shown to inhibit the production of proinflammatory cytokines, such as IL1β, IL6, IL8, and TNFα. This peptide also has anti-inflammatory effects on autoimmune diseases, such as rheumatoid arthritis. H-Ala-Tyr-Pro-Gly-Lys-Phe-OH has been shown to inhibit prostate cancer cell growth in vitro and in vivo. It appears to exert its action by interfering with the transcriptional process at the level of RNA polymerase II.
