Rapamycin-d3 is a drug used to suppress the immune system. It is an immunosuppressant that binds to proteins in the cell and prevents them from functioning. Rapamycin-d3 has been shown to be effective in preventing rejection of transplanted organs as well as treating autoimmune disorders, such as inflammatory bowel disease (IBD). The analysis of this compound can be done using LC-MS/MS methods. In order to optimize the assay, it was necessary to perform a series of validation studies. This included determining crossreactivity with other drugs, developing a method for patient samples, and determining if there was any correlation between treatment response and patient age or sex.
