CAS :6-Chlorochroman-2-carboxylic acid is an analog of ethyl esters. It has been shown to potentiate the effects of other drugs, such as propionate and phenyl group. 6-Chlorochroman-2-carboxylic acid inhibits the biosynthesis of prostaglandin E2 (PGE2) by inhibiting the phospholipase A2 enzyme that catalyzes the release of arachidonic acid from phospholipids in cell membranes. This process leads to a decrease in platelet activation and aggregation. 6-Chlorochroman-2-carboxylic acid is also capable of inhibiting collagen synthesis and reducing malondialdehyde levels in rat liver cells. This drug may have beneficial effects on cardiovascular disease risk factors.
