Dimethyl 5-(bromomethyl)isophthalate

Dimethyl 5-(bromomethyl)isophthalate is a supramolecular compound that has been synthesized by reacting a metal cation with an isophthalate. The emission wavelength ranges from 530 nm to 590 nm and the fluorescence quantum yield ranged from 0.0065 to 0.0078 for various metal cations. The emission intensity of dimethyl 5-(bromomethyl)isophthalate was found to be proportional to the square of the concentration of the metal cations and inversely proportional to the square root of time.
