CAS :Efavirenz is a non-nucleoside reverse transcriptase inhibitor. It is used to treat HIV infection and AIDS. Efavirenz has been shown to be an impurity in the synthesis of 6-chloro-4-[(1E)-2-cyclopropylethenyl]-1,4-dihydro-4-(trifluoromethyl)-2H-3,1-benzoxazin-2-one. The impurities are removed by a deprotection reaction that removes the protecting group from the molecule.
