MCL 0020 also modulates synaptic dysfunction and reverses synaptic loss in a transgenic mouse model of Alzheimer's disease. The potential for MCL 0020 as an Alzheimer's treatment is highlighted by its ability to significantly improve cognitive function in mice with an app/ps1 transgenic, which mimics early-stage Alzheimer's pathology.
