It has shown to be a potent inhibitor of SIRT2 and may have potential as a therapeutic agent for the use in cancer treatment. Iminodibenzyl inhibits the deacetylation of p53, which is an important tumor suppressor, by blocking the activity of SIRT2. This inhibition leads to cell death and apoptosis.
