This drug is being studied as a potential treatment for inflammatory diseases, such as asthma and arthritis. 1-(5-Aminopentyl)-2,5-dihydro-1H-pyrrole-2,5-dione hydrochloride has also shown antiinflammatory properties in animal studies and was found to be effective against cell factor in vitro.
