This drug is being studied as a potential treatment for inflammatory diseases, such as asthma and arthritis. 1-(5-Aminopentyl)-2,5-dihydro-1H-pyrrole-2,5-dione hydrochloride has also shown antiinflammatory properties in animal studies and was found to be effective against cell factor in vitro. It has also been shown to have cardiac effects in rats with myocardial infarction.</p>
