CAS :<p>3,3'-Di-O-methylellagic acid 4'-glucoside (DMEG) is a natural compound that has been shown to have antioxidative activity. DMEG binds to the active site of glyoxalase I and inhibits the production of glyoxal, a reactive metabolite that is believed to play a role in tumorigenesis. DMEG also binds to and inhibits the activity of transcription factors such as activator protein-1 (AP-1), nuclear factor kappa B (NF-κB), and E2F, which regulate gene expression. DMEG has been shown to inhibit the growth of cancer cells in vitro, with potent anticancer activity against erythroid cell lines.
