Description :

Dimenhydrinate est un antihistaminique couramment utilisé pour prévenir et traiter les nausées, les vomissements et les vertiges causés par le mal des transports. C'est une combinaison de diphénhydramine, un antihistaminique, et de 8-chlorothéophylline, un stimulant qui contrecarre les effets sédatifs de la diphénhydramine. La substance apparaît sous forme de poudre cristalline blanche à blanc cassé et est soluble dans l'eau, ce qui la rend adaptée à diverses formulations, y compris des comprimés et des solutions orales. Dimenhydrinate agit en bloquant l'action de l'histamine sur les récepteurs H1 et possède des propriétés anticholinergiques, qui contribuent à son efficacité à soulager les symptômes associés au mal des transports.
