CAS :1,2-Pentanediol is a diol that can be used as an antimicrobial agent. It has been shown to inhibit the growth of bacteria in a constant pressure reactor at 50°C. 1,2-Pentanediol has also been found to have antioxidant properties and can be used as a preservative in food processing. This compound is also suitable for use as a skin conditioning agent, such as in detergent compositions or film-forming polymer formulations.
