CAS :2-Isopropyl thioxanthone is a synthetic compound that belongs to the class of glycol esters. It reacts with trifluoroacetic acid (TFA) in the presence of anhydrous sodium to create reactive species, which cause DNA damage and cell death. 2-Isopropyl thioxanthone has been shown to be cytotoxic against primary cells in vitro and is biocompatible with polymer scaffolds for use in tissue engineering. The fluorescence intensity of this compound can be determined using a fluorescence spectrometer, and it is sensitive enough for use as an analytical method for determining the concentration of this compound in solution.
