DL-Tyrosine is a precursor of the neurotransmitter dopamine, which is involved in regulating mood, movement, and cognitive functions. DL-Tyrosine has been shown to inhibit the conversion of tyrosine to 3,4-dihydroxyphenylacetic acid (DOPAC) by dopamine β-hydroxylase.
