Sclareol glycol also stimulates the release of extracellular calcium (Ca2+) in tissue cultures, which may be due to its ability to stimulate cytosolic Ca2+ levels. In addition, sclareol glycol has been shown to increase renal blood flow and inhibit the synthesis of dopamine by inhibiting translation in kidney cells. Sclareol glycol also induces locomotor activity in mice, likely through its ability to bind with GABA receptors in the brain.
