CAS :Flupirtine is a bicyclic heterocycle that has been shown to have a number of biological properties. It has been used as a plate test for the determination of the bacterial sensitivity to flupirtine. Flupirtine also affects locomotor activity and induces neuronal death in rats by inhibiting mitochondrial membrane depolarization. The drug is cell-specific with respect to its effect on transcriptional regulation and cytosolic calcium ion concentration.
