Description :
Chlorhydrate de désipramine est un antidépresseur tricyclique principalement utilisé dans le traitement du trouble dépressif majeur et de certains troubles anxieux. Il fonctionne en inhibant la recapture de la noradrénaline et, dans une moindre mesure, de la sérotonine, augmentant ainsi les niveaux de ces neurotransmetteurs dans la fente synaptique. Ce mécanisme contribue à ses effets antidépresseurs. La substance apparaît sous forme de poudre cristalline blanche à blanc cassé et est soluble dans l'eau, ce qui la rend adaptée à une administration orale sous forme de comprimés ou comme solution injectable. Chlorhydrate de désipramine a une demi-vie relativement longue, permettant une posologie une fois par jour dans de nombreux cas.
