Description :

Diméthoate est un insecticide et acaricide organophosphoré largement utilisé en agriculture pour contrôler une variété de ravageurs. Il se caractérise par son action systémique, lui permettant d'être absorbé par les plantes et de fournir une protection contre les insectes qui s'en nourrissent. Diméthoate est généralement un liquide incolore à jaune pâle avec une légère odeur, et il est soluble dans des solvants organiques mais a une solubilité limitée dans l'eau. La structure chimique présente un groupe phosphate diméthylique, responsable de son activité biologique. Il agit en inhibant l'enzyme acétylcholinestérase, entraînant l'accumulation d'acétylcholine dans le système nerveux des ravageurs, ce qui entraîne finalement leur mort. Dimethoate is a non-systemic insecticide that inhibits the function of acetylcholinesterase, an enzyme that breaks down acetylcholine in the nervous system. This leads to a loss of muscle control and eventually death. Dimethoate has been shown to be effective against the larvae of mosquitoes, flies, and beetles at sublethal doses. It also inhibits photosynthetic activity in plants by binding to amide groups on chlorophyll and carotenoids. Dimethoate has been detected in the diet at detectable concentrations. The mechanism of action is still unclear, but it is thought to inhibit photosynthetic pigments by cationic polymerization or ionizing radiation.br>br> br>
