6-Hydroxypyridazine-3-carboxamide is a potential anti-cancer drug that belongs to the class of allosteric modulators. It is a small molecule inhibitor of metabotropic glutamate receptor 4 (mGluR4). 6-Hydroxypyridazine-3-carboxamide has been shown to inhibit the proliferation and migration of cancer cells in vitro. In vivo studies have demonstrated that this drug can inhibit tumor growth and metastasis, decrease inflammation, and prolong survival time in mice bearing human lung cancer xenografts. 6-Hydroxypyridazine-3-carboxamide also inhibits c1–c4 alkyl esterases, which are responsible for the metabolism of many drugs.
