CAS :Produit contrôléNorcholic acid is an amide type of bile acid that is synthesized in the liver. Norcholic acid has been shown to be effective in treating cirrhosis and its associated symptoms, such as fatigue, nausea, and weight loss. Norcholic acid is converted to hydroxylated metabolites by the liver and excreted into the urine or faeces. The effective dose of norcholic acid for treating cirrhosis has been determined through a study with t84 cells. The detergent compositions used in this study were Triton X-100, Tween 20, and Brij 35. This study also found that udca therapy was more effective than norcholic acid alone for treating cirrhosis. A biological sample (urine) from patients with chronic liver disease showed elevated concentrations of norcholic acid when compared to healthy individuals. Additionally, Caco-2 cells have been shown to metabolize norcholic acid into products that inhibit tumor
