Diacetylbiopterin

Diacetylbiopterin is an anticancer drug that acts as an inhibitor of kinases. It is an analog of biopterin, a natural compound found in human urine. Diacetylbiopterin has been shown to inhibit the growth of cancer cells by blocking the activity of certain kinases that are involved in tumor growth and progression. This drug has been tested in Chinese hamster ovary cells and has been found to induce apoptosis, or programmed cell death, in cancer cells. Diacetylbiopterin may also be used in combination with other protein kinase inhibitors, such as nintedanib, for enhanced anticancer effects.
