CAS :Glycyl-L-tyrosine is a drug that belongs to the class of drugs called psychostimulants. It is a non-amphetamine stimulant and does not produce amphetamine-like effects, such as euphoria or dependence. Glycyl-L-tyrosine is a structural analog of the neurotransmitter L-DOPA, which has been shown to have a stimulating effect on locomotor activity in rats. This drug can be used as a substrate for the polymerase chain reaction (PCR) technique and has been shown to stabilize DNA structures by acting as an intramolecular hydrogen bond donor. It also has ester hydrochloride and disulfide bonds that are susceptible to hydrolysis by esterases and reductases, respectively. Glycyl-L-tyrosine has been shown to increase human serum levels of dopamine, norepinephrine, and serotonin in model systems.
