Fenoprofen sodium salt dihydrate is a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID), which is a synthetic compound derived from propionic acid. It acts by inhibiting the cyclooxygenase (COX) enzymes, COX-1 and COX-2, leading to decreased synthesis of prostaglandins. This reduction in prostaglandin synthesis is responsible for its analgesic, anti-inflammatory, and antipyretic effects.
