Zelpolib is a peptide inhibitor. It is a potent and selective blocker of the human calcitonin gene-related peptide receptor (CGRP receptor). The binding site of zelpolib was mapped to a region near the extracellular end of the CGRP receptor, which overlaps with the binding site for amlexanox. This peptide has been shown to be an effective inhibitor in cell-based assays. Zelpolib is also an activator at the vasopressin V2 receptor.
