CAS :<p>Chromomycin A3 (CMA3) is a cytotoxic antibiotic that is produced by Streptomyces griseus. CMA3 inhibits DNA synthesis and provides protection against bacterial infection, as well as cancer cells. It binds to the D-loop region of duplex DNA, which prevents the progression of polymerase chain reactions. CMA3 has been shown to be effective in inhibiting growth of gram-positive bacteria and gram-negative bacteria, as well as many species of fungi.
