CAS :3,5-Bis(trifluoromethyl)-1H-1,2,4-triazole is a strong nucleophilic electrophile that reacts with nucleophiles to form triazolides. It can be synthesized by reacting hydroxylamine with norbornadiene in the presence of an acid catalyst such as hydrochloric acid. 3,5-Bis(trifluoromethyl)-1H-1,2,4-triazole has been shown to react with fluorine and hydrogen chloride to form a primary amino salt and a hydrochloric acid salt respectively. The reaction also generates heat energy which can be used for heating or generating electricity.
