CAS :4-((4-Chlorophenyl)sulfonyl)aniline is a synthetic sulfone that is used as an antileprosy agent. It has been shown to inhibit the growth of Mycobacterium leprae and Mycobacterium tuberculosis. 4-((4-Chlorophenyl)sulfonyl)aniline also has anti-inflammatory properties, which make it useful for the treatment of various skin diseases such as eczema, psoriasis, and atopic dermatitis. The chemical structure of 4-((4-chlorophenyl)sulfonyl)aniline is similar to that of dapsone, but with a substituted phenyl group on the sulfur atom. This substitution leads to decreased solubility in water and increased solubility in organic solvents such as acetone and ethanol.
