Description :
Niobium, avec le symbole chimique Nb et le numéro CAS 7440-03-1, est un métal de transition connu pour son point de fusion élevé et son excellente résistance à la corrosion. C'est un métal gris argenté qui est ductile et peut être facilement façonné. Niobium est principalement utilisé dans la production d'alliages d'acier à haute résistance, qui améliorent la résistance et la ténacité des matériaux utilisés dans la construction et la fabrication. Il a une structure cristalline cubique centrée sur le corps et présente des propriétés supraconductrices à basse température, ce qui le rend précieux dans des applications telles que les machines d'IRM et les accélérateurs de particules.
