Titane

Description :
Titane, avec le symbole chimique Ti et le numéro CAS 7440-32-6, est un métal de transition connu pour son rapport résistance/poids élevé, sa résistance à la corrosion et sa biocompatibilité. Il a une apparence gris argenté et est relativement léger par rapport à d'autres métaux, ce qui en fait un choix idéal pour les applications aérospatiales, automobiles et médicales. Titane présente une excellente résistance à l'oxydation et à la corrosion, en particulier dans des environnements difficiles, grâce à la formation d'une couche d'oxyde protectrice à sa surface. Il a un point de fusion élevé et est capable de résister à des températures extrêmes, ce qui contribue à son utilité dans des applications de haute performance. Titane est également non toxique et est largement utilisé dans les implants médicaux et les prothèses. Le métal peut exister sous plusieurs allotropes, le plus stable étant la structure hexagonale compacte (hcp) à des températures plus basses et la structure cubique centrée (bcc) à des températures plus élevées. De plus, Titane peut former divers alliages, améliorant ses propriétés mécaniques et élargissant sa gamme d'applications.
