Description :
Antimoine, avec le symbole chimique Sb et le numéro CAS 7440-36-0, est un métalloïde qui présente des propriétés caractéristiques à la fois des métaux et des non-métaux. Il a une apparence argentée et blanche et est cassant, ce qui rend difficile son travail dans sa forme pure. Antimoine est principalement utilisé dans les alliages, en particulier avec le plomb, pour améliorer la dureté et la résistance mécanique. Il est également utilisé dans les retardateurs de flamme, les batteries et les applications de semi-conducteurs en raison de sa capacité à conduire l'électricité. Antimoine a un point de fusion relativement bas par rapport à de nombreux métaux et peut exister sous plusieurs allotropes, la forme la plus stable étant une structure métallique et cristalline.
