Or, avec le numéro de registre du Chemical Abstracts Service (CAS) 7440-57-5, est un élément métallique très apprécié connu pour sa couleur jaune distincte et son éclat. Il est classé comme un métal de transition et est représenté par le symbole Au dans le tableau périodique.
