Description :
Vanadium est un métal de transition avec le numéro atomique 23 et est représenté par le symbole V dans le tableau périodique. Il se caractérise par son apparence gris argenté et est connu pour sa haute résistance et sa résistance à la corrosion. Vanadium présente plusieurs états d'oxydation, généralement compris entre -1 et +5, le +5 étant le plus stable et courant dans les composés. Il a un point de fusion d'environ 1910°C et un point d'ébullition d'environ 3407°C, ce qui indique sa stabilité à haute température. Vanadium se trouve principalement dans la nature sous forme de vanadinite et d'autres minéraux, et il est souvent extrait des sous-produits de la production de fer et d'acier.
