Description :
Indium est un métal post-transition avec le symbole chimique "In" et le numéro CAS 7440-74-6. Il se caractérise par son apparence argentée et blanche et est relativement mou, malléable et ductile, ce qui lui permet d'être facilement façonné et formé. Indium a un point de fusion bas par rapport à de nombreux métaux, ce qui le rend utile dans diverses applications, y compris le soudage et l'électronique. Il présente une propriété unique d'expansion lors de la solidification, ce qui est rare parmi les métaux. Indium se trouve principalement dans les minerais de zinc et est souvent extrait comme sous-produit du raffinage du zinc.
