Kr-62436 hydrate is a potent and selective agonist of the glucagon-like peptide-1 (GLP-1) receptor. It has been shown to be biologically active in humans and other animal models. Kr-62436 hydrate has been shown to stimulate glucose uptake and increase insulin secretion in fat tissue, as well as inhibit food intake via activation of the GLP-1 receptor. Kr-62436 hydrate also enhances the release of human GLP-1 from pancreatic β cells.
