Silice

Description :
Silice, chimiquement connu sous le nom de dioxyde de silicium (SiO2), est un composé qui se produit naturellement et qui est abondant dans la croûte terrestre. Il se caractérise par sa structure cristalline dure et se trouve couramment sous diverses formes, y compris le quartz, le sable et le verre. Silice est un solide incolore, inodore et sans goût qui est insoluble dans l'eau et la plupart des solvants organiques. Il a un point de fusion élevé et une excellente stabilité thermique, ce qui le rend utile dans les applications à haute température. Silice présente une gamme de propriétés physiques, y compris une grande dureté et une fragilité, et il est un mauvais conducteur d'électricité.
