CAS :Silver(II) fluoride is an inorganic compound that contains silver, fluorine, and hydrogen. The chemical formula for this compound is AgF. The uptake of silver(II) fluoride by the human body can be accomplished through inhalation or ingestion. Silver(II) fluoride has been shown to have antimalarial properties, as well as the ability to inhibit nerve conduction. This compound has also been used in the synthesis of other compounds such as lithium fluoride and potassium chloride. It is a relatively stable compound that does not react with oxygen or water, but will react with alkali metals to form silver metal and hydrogen gas. Silver(II) fluoride may be prepared by the amination reaction of silver nitrate with hydrogen chloride gas.
