CAS :8-(p-Sulfophenyl)theophylline is a potent and selective A1 adenosine receptor agonist that has been shown to produce bronchoconstriction in vivo. This drug produces a significant increase in locomotor activity and has been used as a model of theophylline-induced bronchoconstriction. 8-(p-Sulfophenyl)theophylline binds to the A3 adenosine receptor, which is involved in regulating cardiac function and blood pressure. The drug also inhibits cyclase activity and has been shown to be effective against experimental models of myocardial infarction.
