Epacadostat is an enzyme inhibitor that inhibits the enzyme IDO1, which is involved in the regulation of T-cell lymphomas. Epacadostat also has been shown to inhibit cell lysis in autoimmune diseases and HIV infection. The mechanism of action involves the inhibition of toll-like receptor signaling, which leads to a decrease in inflammatory cytokines and chemokines. Epacadostat has been shown to improve immune function and increase body mass index in mice with cancer by increasing energy metabolism. It also increases locomotor activity in mice.
