CAS :Cyclosporin A is a cyclic non-hydrolyzable glycol ester that inhibits the production of cytokines and inflammatory mediators by binding to specific intracellular receptors. Cyclosporin A acetate is an inactive prodrug that is converted to active cyclosporine in the liver. Cyclosporin A acetate has been shown to be effective in treating autoimmune diseases such as rheumatoid arthritis and psoriasis, as well as atopic dermatitis. Cyclosporin A acetate is used orally and usually taken with food or milk to reduce gastrointestinal irritation. The oral dosage form of this drug contains saccharose as a diluent and surfactant, which reduces the risk of gastrointestinal irritation.
