CAS :Monobutyl phthalate acyl-β-D-glucuronide is a metabolite of the phthalic acid ester. It is used in pharmaceuticals as an excipient and also has minimal effects on primates. Monobutyl phthalate acyl-β-D-glucuronide is pharmacologically active, and its main use is as a substrate for enzymes that produce short-chain carboxylic acids. The hydrolysis of monobutyl phthalate acyl-β-D-glucuronide yields butyric acid and β-D-glucuronic acid. This product is absorbed in the intestinal tract and excreted via urine. Monobutyl phthalate acyl-β-D-glucuronide can be metabolized to form butyric acid, which can cause diarrhea.
