Dasatinib is a tyrosine kinase inhibitor that inhibits the activity of several receptor tyrosine kinases, including c-Kit, PDGFRA, and PDGFRB. Dasatinib was developed for the treatment of acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL), chronic myelogenous leukemia (CML), and other cancers. It is marketed in capsule form as a solution for oral administration. Dasatinib is insoluble in water but soluble in aqueous solutions with pH below 7.5. Dasatinib has been shown to be effective against liposome-encapsulated cancer cells, which may be due to its inhibition of extracellular liposomes.
