Xylopropamine hydrobromide
CAS :Xylopropamine hydrobromide is a synthetic peptide, which is an activator of ion channels. It is used as a research tool in the study of ion channel function and for the production of antibodies against ion channels. Xylopropamine hydrobromide has been shown to inhibit the activity of ligand-gated ion channels, such as nicotinic acetylcholine receptors and GABA receptors. The drug also inhibits binding of acetylcholine to nicotinic acetylcholine receptors and blocks voltage-gated sodium channels. Xylopropamine hydrobromide has been shown to interact with receptor proteins, such as the dopamine D2 receptor, serotonin 5HT3 receptor, and beta-adrenergic receptor.
