6-(Pyrrolidine-1-sulfonyl)-1,2,3,4-tetrahydroquinoline is a potent and selective inhibitor of the voltage-gated potassium (Kv) channels Kv1.3 and Kv4.2. It is used as a research tool for studying the regulation of ion channels by protein interactions or activation. 6-(Pyrrolidine-1-sulfonyl)-1,2,3,4-tetrahydroquinoline binds to the S5 transmembrane segment of these channels and blocks their opening in response to depolarization. This inhibition prevents the flow of ions through these channels and leads to hyperpolarization of the cell membrane potential.
