    <p>Verdiperstat is an irreversible inhibitor of leukotriene receptor antagonist. It reversibly inhibits the activity of leukotriene receptors, which have been implicated in inflammatory bowel disease and other inflammatory diseases. Verdiperstat has been shown to be clinically active in a number of studies and has demonstrated efficacy in reducing disease activity in patients with Crohn's disease or ulcerative colitis. Although the precise mechanism of action is unknown, it is thought that verdiperstat may inhibit the production or release of pro-inflammatory mediators from microglia cells by binding to retromer proteins.</p>
