TAN-452 is a potent activator of TRPV1 receptors, with an EC50 value of 0.6 nM. TAN-452 has been shown to inhibit voltage-gated calcium channels in rat trigeminal ganglion neurons and inhibits Ligand binding to the human GABA A receptor. This compound is also able to inhibit the activation of potassium channels by endogenous ATP in rat dorsal root ganglia neurons and may be useful as a research tool for studying ion channel function.
