CAS :Substance P is a neuropeptide that functions as a neurotransmitter and neuromodulator. It has been shown to inhibit inflammatory mediator release and regulate immune responses. Substance P regulates the functioning of the central nervous system by acting on various types of receptors, including heterotrimeric G protein-coupled receptors, which are composed of alpha-, beta-, and gamma-subunits. This peptide also inhibits the production of proinflammatory cytokines in response to bacterial lipopolysaccharides (LPS). In addition, Substance P is involved in the regulation of retromer function. The administration of Substance P modulates the activity of protein kinases and alters cannabinoid signaling pathways.
